This 3 hour class covers the principles of rodent anesthesia and analgesia, as well as peri-operative monitoring of physiological parameters, and pre- and post-operative care. The class includes lecture, demonstrations, and hands-on learning. Participants should be comfortable in handling and restraining mice and rats, as well as techniques such as administering injections.
Prerequisites for attendance:
- Must be an approved animal handler that is responsible for performing anesthesia or analgesia on an approved animal use protocol.
